The concept of preservation involves considering what resources are needed to steward manmade structures and objects through time. These considerations naturally align with sustainability and environmental initiatives. Avoiding demolition conserves what’s known as embodied energy and prevents untold tonnage of debris and waste from going to the landfill and into the air.
